Community guidelines

Intelligence.com is a network devoted to the power of human connection. Our community of Connectors is inclusive and supports members who are committed to helping each other succeed. Whether you are new to the business world or a world-renowned business leader, we welcome you to share experience and relationships to further mutually beneficial outcomes. Our community works and wins together. We make introductions, share knowledge, and collaborate to make things happen.

A vibrant community is based on trust. We succeed because we value safety for our members, respect for each other, and transparent, honest and kind communication. In that spirit, we ask each member of the Intelligence.com network to adopt a set of shared values:

Be honest

  • You should be who you say you are. You should be an actual human being, as opposed to a robot or a group of individuals. The name you use on your profile should be the name you use in real life. Keep your pseudonym for your gamer life!

  • Be truthful about who and what you know. The people you know or the deals you’ve won should be an accurate reflection of your network and experience. The more honest you are, the more you are able to build trust in your network.

  • Only share information that you are allowed to share. The knowledge you share on Intelligence.com should be your own. Virtual DealRooms provide optimal transparency to everyone trying to get the business deal done. They are great ways for teams to collaborate and share information. But be mindful of what you can and cannot legally share. Respect non-disclosure agreements or confidentiality agreements that you are aware of and avoid sharing insider information that could get you or others in trouble for insider trading.

Respect others and keep it professional

The mission of Intelligence.com is to help members build their reputation, establish more meaningful relationships, and leverage who and what they know to accomplish more professional success. In our broad conversations about business, professional expression is best. To maintain a professional platform, members should treat each other with respect and civility.

  • Be kind. Treat each other with kindness and respect. No one wants to help a bully or harasser win business deals. Harassment includes targeted personal attacks, intimidation, shaming, disparagement, and abusive language directed at other members. Revealing, threatening to share, or incentivizing the sharing of other people’s private or sensitive information (aka "doxing") without their permission is a form of harassment, and so is trolling.

  • Be inclusive. Let’s all create a community we are proud of. Treat people fairly, no matter their race, origin, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, occupation, sexual orientation, illness, physical or mental disability, faith, political view or socio-economic class.

  • Promote peace and prosperity. Violence has never helped a legitimate business deal, and we do not allow the threatening of or inciting of violence of any kind. Intelligence.com is not a place for you to express support for individuals or groups who glorify violence.

  • Be a good citizen. Unlike in Monopoly, there’s no get out of jail cards in our network. Intelligence.com should not be used to engage in or promote criminal activity, or to promote, sell, or attempt to purchase illegal or dangerous goods or services. It also shouldn’t be used to scam, defraud, or deceive others, or to violate anyone else’s intellectual property or other rights.

  • Keep it professional. Intelligence.com is a professional network, not a dating site or dive bar. Do not use it to pursue romantic connections, ask for romantic dates, or provide sexual commentary on someone's appearance. Using communication features to send unwanted advances, requests for romantic relationships, sexual advances or innuendo, or lewd remarks will get you kicked off the platform. Also, bullies and trolls are the antithesis of Connectors and unwelcome in our community. As a member, if you spot this behavior, please be an upstander and reinforce that we don’t operate this way.

  • Keep spam out of it. Using Connectors invitations or other messaging features to send  untargeted, irrelevant, obviously unwanted, unauthorized, inappropriately commercial, or gratuitously repetitive messages is really annoying and not allowed.

Respect the platform

  • Keep away malicious software. Any software that puts our members or Intelligence.com at risk is strictly prohibited, including introducing any viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, time bombs, web bugs, spyware or other material that is invasive, malicious, or technologically harmful. Phishing attempts are not tolerated.

  • We are people too. We have worked hard to set up an efficient and responsive reporting process, which only works when folks refrain from submitting fake incident reports or violations.

  • Respect our proprietary platform. Intelligence.com is the brainchild of dedicated engineers, data scientists and product designers. Attempts to reverse engineer, copy, damage, or disrupt any aspect of our platform or network, engaging in scraping, data mining, harvesting, screen scraping, data aggregating or indexing, or allowing or facilitating any other party to do any of the foregoing is strictly prohibited. Please don’t use any robot, spider, or other automatic device, process, or means to access Intelligence.com for any purpose, including to monitor or copy any of the material on the platform. Don’t access the platform or our network for the purpose of competing with us or assisting anyone else to do so, or dissuading others from participating in Intelligence.com. Don’t resell or attempt to resell our products or services or in any way represent that you are authorized to do so.

  • Be kind to our team. Treating our team with respect means refraining from unwanted attempts to contact our employees, staff, or partners via personal channels like personal email addresses, phone numbers, in person visits, or via other unauthorized or invasive methods.
